00:14:27 You have to study the ways of the Jew and slowly transform your life into a life that is compatible with being one of God's chosen ones.

00:14:42 So I'm going to walk you through his conversion story.

00:14:57 I believe he was born in 1987.
00:15:01 Given the name at the time he didn't, he didn't go by the name.

00:15:06 But rather Nicholas Ala Verdian Nicholas Olive Verdian there on the left.
00:15:13 His mother was married to an abusive Armenian.
00:15:20 Because he's he's Armenian, or I guess at least half Armenian I don't.

00:15:26 He was like a drug dealer.
00:15:27 He was in and out of.
00:15:30 Of prison.
00:15:32 And eventually, you know, left the family.
00:15:36 Leaving her as a single mom.
00:15:40 She couldn't take care of him anymore, so he was put in a state.
00:15:46 Foster system.
00:15:48 This is Nicholas.
00:15:51 Olive Verdian right here.
00:15:53 In this state foster system in Rhode Island.
00:15:57 They had a program that would put him as a place him as a page.
00:16:04 As a page at the state Capitol.
00:16:07 So he could work at the capital at the age of 14 for.
00:16:13 Elected officials.
00:16:16 That's a whole nother topic, we'll.
00:16:17 We might talk about some other time.
00:16:21 And he was very well liked, very well liked.
00:16:25 He went out and he spoke out against the treatment.
00:16:30 As he grew up, he, you know, this is he's no longer 14 here.
00:16:34 He spoke out against the treatment of of children.
00:16:38 In the foster system.
00:16:40 You know, real promising young man.
00:16:47 If this plays.
00:16:47 I was subjected to torture, beatings, assault in various forms.
00:16:54 He was he was talking about how horrible the foster care system was, how he was always abused.
00:17:00 He befriended state legislators.
00:17:04 Like this man who was newly elected.
00:17:06 You see people with compassionate that really want to advocate for something.
00:17:10 That's Nick, and that's how I get attached to him, I said.
00:17:13 Nick, whatever I can do for you, how to help you.
00:17:15 And I think I even sponsored a couple of bills for him to try to change the the processes of DC YF.
00:17:22 That's right.
00:17:23 He wanted to change Dcyf, which was the the Department of Children's Youth and Families in Rhode Island.
00:17:33 He made the local news.
00:17:34 Several times, you know, he was a real do gooder.
00:17:38 You know, he was always an advocate for, for children's rights.
00:17:43 Claims of violence in local and out of state group homes are pushing the victims effort to provoke the overhaul of the Department of Children, Youth and Families Forward, and tonight he's dealing with another twist to this story. New at six Eyewitness News reporter Walt Buteau has this week's street story.

00:18:03 Watch 3 weeks after recording this confrontation with the courthouse, sheriff's deputy Nicholas Alaverdi and returned to court for a restraining order tied to his battle with the DC YF on Monday, he claims a misunderstanding over what was recorded provoked a deputy.

00:18:19 He pinned me against the wall, he.
00:18:22 Pushed me.
00:18:23 He shoved me.
00:18:23 He confiscate me, punched me at one point.
00:18:26 The Sheriff's Department tells us his complaint is under investigation. It is the latest turn for this 23 year old who had fourteen was a legislative.
00:18:34 Page say he's fighting the power.
00:18:36 He's trying to make things change for the better and the and the system is just pushing him down.
00:18:41 He's being assaulted by cops.
00:18:44 He's getting it.
00:18:44 All on hidden camera.
00:18:46 But a year later, he was living in a series of DC YF funded group homes where he says he was out punching back for the other kids every day you were beaten.
00:18:56 Every day in Florida, every day in Nebraska, every day in Rhode Island.
00:19:00 Every day, Nicholas.
00:19:01 I show every day.
00:19:02 The injuries, including bruises and sprains, are recorded in these medical documents and Alaverdi and tells US lawmakers also noticed the wounds.
00:19:10 I chose to fight for the rights of myself as a kid in DCI care and fight for the rights for the of those.
00:19:16 We're actually.
00:19:17 Beating me up.
00:19:18 Now he's behind three bills that are endorsed by several lawmakers.
00:19:22 One would overhaul DC YF, another would stop Rhode Island from sending children out of state.
00:19:28 The measures, he says, would save money, but more importantly, he tells us save children from what he and too many others survived.
00:19:37 Most of the social workers that I know mean well, but they are not given the resources.
00:19:42 They are not given the time, they don't have the abilities to do what they need to do to get their job done, and that's unacceptable.
00:19:49 It's horrific.
00:19:51 So there he is.
00:19:52 He's he's he's really trying to change the system that that he was a victim of.
00:19:58 But sadly.
00:20:00 Sadly, before his quest.
00:20:03 Could be completed.
00:20:07 Still working with the legislators.
00:20:11 On February 29th, 2020.
00:20:15 Nicholas oliverian.
00:20:19 Sprung there a lot of people were shocked they didn't know.
00:20:22 His death was a surprise to everybody.
00:20:26 Turns out he had been suffering from cancer this whole time.
00:20:31 And sadly, he died.
00:20:34 He was so well liked though.
00:20:37 The the House of Representatives even recognized him officially.
00:20:42 In one of their sessions, upon hearing about his death.
00:20:47 Speaker, proceed to adjourn in the memory of my friend and I guess some of the people may know him.

00:20:55 Who had a?
00:20:56 Battle with cancer.
00:20:59 Very, very smart individual.
00:21:01 When I started here some.
00:21:03 Eight years ago.
00:21:05 And I say this on purpose and.

00:21:08 Are standing there have?
00:21:10 Passion in what you.
00:21:11 Do and never give up on it.
00:21:14 He had that.
00:21:16 And it touched.
00:21:17 Me to be honored to get up to say something on his behalf today because he believed in something that happened to him.

00:21:26 Forward to the change in DC YF.
00:21:29 Asked that all my colleagues remember him.
00:21:34 See, he was an inspiration to young people everywhere.
00:21:39 All this guy wanted, he.
00:21:41 Said you should model your life after him.
00:21:46 Your life.
00:21:48 After him. So wait a second though, Devin, I if he's dead in 2020.

00:21:57 You mean he's Jewish now? And and he's suffering from anti-Semitism and he's being extradited to the United States. This doesn't make any sense.

00:22:25 The first part was right.
00:22:28 His father was an Armenian drug dealer, criminal guy who knocked up this blonde lady.
00:22:35 After going in and out of prison, he abandoned the family.
00:22:41 She was a cocktail waitress at a bar.
00:22:46 And this man on the left.
00:22:49 He was a.
00:22:52 Lounge singer, essentially.
00:22:56 She was a single mom.
00:22:58 And let this be a lesson to everyone watching.
00:23:01 This is what can happen.
00:23:03 If you end up with a single mom.
00:23:06 He said ohh.
00:23:07 She was so beautiful.
00:23:08 I couldn't resist her.
00:23:11 And he decided to try to be a father.
00:23:14 To Nicholas.
00:23:19 Very high IQ, but he knew it and he took advantage of it.
00:23:23 He would threaten people.
00:23:24 I'll get on my computer.
00:23:25 I'll ruin your life in.
00:23:26 5 minutes.
00:23:28 He ruined every Thanksgiving, every Christmas, every birthday for him and his siblings.
00:23:34 He was wicked.
00:23:34 He was a devil's spawn.
00:23:35 He really was.
00:23:37 He was the devil's spawn.
00:23:41 So he was this high IQ kid.
00:23:45 That was causing all kinds of problems.
00:23:48 The stepfather hated him because he was going around ruining every holiday.
00:23:53 He was physically beating his mother on occasion.
00:23:58 They threw him out.
00:23:59 Of there, nobody could hear.
00:24:00 So they they had him institutionalized.
00:24:04 And the institution threw him out of the institution.
00:24:07 They threw him out of.
00:24:08 There nobody could handle him.
00:24:10 He started hitting her.
00:24:14 One day they go to Disney World on vacation.
00:24:19 He starts beating up his mom.
00:24:21 And the stepdad snaps.
00:24:24 He snaps and he beats the **** out of her out of the.
00:24:27 Kid and hospitalizes him.
00:24:31 He started hitting her.
00:24:32 When I tell you, I snapped like that.
00:24:34 I couldn't take them on.
00:24:35 I beat the hell out of him.
00:24:37 I put him in the hospital all the years, all the years of the the problem and the trouble with I've lost it.
00:24:43 I'm ashamed of it.
00:24:44 I always will be.
00:24:46 She had to pull me off.
00:24:48 And at that point, after the Florida authorities got involved, he was arrested for child abuse.
00:24:55 But to give you an idea of how bad.
00:24:58 This Nicholas kid was.
00:25:01 The charges were dropped when the dad explained what the kid the kids behavioral problems were.
00:25:09 But at that point, he'd had enough.
00:25:12 He'd had enough of this single.
00:25:13 Mom and her her.
00:25:15 ****** **, kids.
00:25:16 And so he left.
00:25:21 So at this point, the single mom who no longer had this man to try to be a father to the kid.
00:25:30 She put him in the foster care system rather than be his mother.
00:25:37 He was in the foster care system that parts real until he was placed as a page.
00:25:43 At the the state Capitol, that part is also real.
00:25:48 And the one of the the alleged state legislators that worked with the with the Nicholas.
00:25:55 Received a phone call from Nicholas one day and Nicholas was crying and he.
00:25:59 Said if you.
00:26:01 I need someone to legally adopt me to take.
00:26:03 Me out of this system.
00:26:05 If you don't legally adopt me today.
00:26:10 Then they're going to to ship me away and I won't be able to be.
00:26:13 A page anymore.
00:26:17 And so the legislator was like ohh, you know what, this is, this kid deserves a break.
00:26:22 And it's kind of funny when you see this guy.
00:26:24 It's like classic Rhode Island.
00:26:26 You know, it's funny that he was an elected official at one point because he's always walking around in track suits and has, like, ******* gold chains.
00:26:33 Like, he looks like, like a character out of The Sopranos.
00:26:37 Or something like that.
00:26:40 You know he's anyway, you'll see.
00:26:42 And so he goes down to talk to the the judge.
00:26:46 And the judge tells him not to adopt the kid, he said.
00:26:50 He said he's like I I can't tell you why, but it don't do it.
00:26:55 The judge said.
00:26:56 Do you know what's going on with this kid?
00:26:57 I said judge.
00:26:58 He's being abused.
00:26:59 He's, you know, he's gonna mocks on him, scratches, bruises.
00:27:02 The judge says he had his whole file, he says.
00:27:04 Can't show this file, but trust me, everything he's telling you that's being done to him, he's actually doing it the other kids.
00:27:14 Which by the way.
00:27:16 And again, these records are sealed.
00:27:20 But by the way, most likely involves rape.
00:27:24 Which we will soon see.
00:27:28 So he doesn't adopt little Nicholas little Nicky.
00:27:34 Nicholas, ages out of the system.
00:27:38 And then.
00:27:40 Goes to Sinclair Community College in Ohio.
00:27:47 This is back around.

00:27:51 Uh, it's it's it's early 2000s.
00:27:55 Because my space was still a thing.
00:27:58 He meets a girl on Myspace.
00:28:01 Says he wants to he doesn't have any friends.
00:28:03 He's new in town.
00:28:06 And you know, not like a in a date.
00:28:08 Kind of a way, but just wants to meet her and and have some, you know, have have some friends.
00:28:15 He was extremely friendly.
00:28:16 We hit it off and he was charming.
00:28:18 He's so easy to talk to you.
00:28:20 He was a good listener.
00:28:22 I we had a.
00:28:22 Good time, yeah.
00:28:25 Sorry, I just had to.
00:28:26 I had to get that out.
00:28:27 Of the way I had to get it out, I had to get it.
00:28:29 No way.
00:28:31 It's one of those things if you don't address it.

00:28:56 And on the way back to class, he takes her to the bottom of the stairwell and proceeds to, well, attempt to rape her by taking her pants off.

00:29:09 Were a couple of times I wondered if he was going to kill me in that basement.
00:29:13 He pins me up against the wall and he starts both hands going up my shirt.
00:29:18 He was trying to kiss me and I would.
00:29:19 I kind of put my head to the side because I was.
00:29:22 I was very disgusted, he went from, you know, touching my shirt to, you know, taking my pants off and.
00:29:31 So he tries to rape her.
00:29:34 She gets away.
00:29:36 She goes to class.
00:29:43 He shows up and he's like waiting for her outside.
00:29:45 Of her class.
00:29:47 And begs her not to press charges.
00:29:50 And so she says that she's not going to press charges.
00:29:55 But does go straight to the police.
00:29:58 Explains what happened.
00:30:00 And the police say, well, it's kind of hard to prove these sorts of things.
00:30:04 I mean, you know, but we'll, we'll look into it.
00:30:09 But then they change their mind when they go to get a statement from him.
00:30:13 And he claims that she tried to rape him.
00:30:18 Alright so.
00:30:19 Let's check that judon meter here.
00:30:22 All right, it's just starting.
00:30:24 It's just starting to creep up a little bit.
00:30:26 There, right.
00:30:28 The the long process.
00:30:30 The long process is beginning.
00:30:33 The log process is beginning.
00:30:37 So the cops are like, alright, well, we know that didn't happen.
00:30:40 So now we think that something actually went down here.
00:30:44 And they they arrest him.
00:30:47 It's it's just short of rape, but it's a sexual assault charge.
00:30:52 And he goes to court.
00:30:55 And the judge finds him guilty.
00:30:58 He has to register as a sex offender now.
00:31:02 He's really upset by that.
00:31:04 Obviously he tries to.
00:31:06 Get it overturned?
00:31:09 By producing what he claims is a drunken Facebook message from her where she admits that she concocted.
00:31:16 The whole thing.
00:31:18 And it reads.
00:31:19 I can't forgive you.
00:31:20 This is this is supposedly from her.
00:31:23 I can't forgive you for what you've done.
00:31:25 I've loved you so much and you'll never have any idea.
00:31:29 I think it's weird because we've done so much stuff together.
00:31:33 I can't believe I went so far by giving you everything you wanted.
00:31:37 I wish I could lie and something your chest and not not.

00:32:44 Had any kind of relationship with him, she had met him on on Myspace and they hooked up well in his in his words that one time.
00:32:53 So he brings this to the judge.
00:32:55 The judge looks at it.
00:32:57 It turns out that it's ********.
00:32:59 You know, they there's no way to verify this is a message which, you know in the in the age of electronics should have been easy to do.
00:33:06 So it looks like it was just some screenshot.
00:33:08 That he had faked.
00:33:12 So he then freaks out and he gets ****** *** and he starts suing the prosecutors.
00:33:17 He starts suing her for defamation, tries to sue the judge, and Oh my God, let's let's take a look at the judomaster.
00:33:26 Ah, it's it's it's starting to climb up.
00:33:27 There a little bit.
00:33:29 It's it's getting in the yellow.
00:33:30 It's a little bit in the yellow now.
00:33:33 Little by little that that conversion step by step, we're getting closer and closer.
00:33:44 He tried to sue all the prosecutors involved.
00:33:47 He ended up suing me.
00:33:48 He was saying that because he had to register as a sex offender.
00:33:51 It was hard for him to get dates and.
00:33:54 Employment opportunities.
00:33:57 He then creates a website.
00:33:59 And starts claiming that she's a false sex.
00:34:04 You know, offender accuser.
00:34:07 And leaving maps to her house and pictures of her house trying to get people to harass her.
00:34:15 And I know what some of you guys might be.
00:34:16 Thinking right, well, how do we know?
00:34:19 Oh, we know. You'll see.
00:34:24 This isn't.
00:34:24 This isn't just like.
00:34:25 A1 off occurrence OK I I can promise you that.
00:34:32 So at that point, he decides I'm going to go back to Rhode Island, where everyone knows me at the state Capitol as the scrappy young kid who's who's just trying to make something of himself.
00:34:46 And he starts doing his advocacy for children stuck in the system.
00:34:53 He starts doing all these press conferences at the Capitol.
00:34:59 And what for some reason no one's looking into?
00:35:02 Is while he's doing all this.
00:35:05 He's being charged five different times.
00:35:09 For sexually assaulting women.
00:35:12 One of whom is his wife at the time, who ends up divorcing him because she claims that he was a well assaulting her constantly.
00:35:23 Cops got, you know, called to the house.
00:35:25 He was pulled out of the house kicking and screaming, the cop said he was banging his head against the the glass that separates the, you know, the the back seat where you put criminals in the front seat where the cops are driving.
00:35:38 And they had to go back there.
00:35:39 And pepper spray them a.
00:35:40 Couple times to get him to stop.
00:35:43 And they just said it was a complete psycho.
00:35:48 So that all that happens, but again somehow.
00:35:52 Even though this is.
00:35:53 All this is all on the record. There's all the the police records of this going on. No one's looking into.
00:35:58 This no one's looking into this. He's still having his press conferences.
00:36:04 So he decides to try to start a new life.
00:36:10 He wants to go somewhere. Where? Where, where? People maybe don't know about him as much. And he goes back-to-back to Ohio.
00:36:20 And while he's back in Ohio.

01:02:57 68 year old former psychologist in Utah is behind bars this week after being accused of ritualistic sexual abuse and child sex trafficking.
01:03:07 And he was taken into custody on Wednesday and charged with a spate of first degree felonies, including one count of rape of a child, 3 counts of ****** on a child, 2 counts of aggravated sexual assault with the child, records reviewed law and crime show.
01:03:19 Hamblin has also been charged with a misdemeanor count of lewdness involving a child.
01:03:26 According to the probable cause affidavit, a female victim in 2020, two reported to the Utah County Sheriff's Office that she had been repeatedly sexually assaulted by Hamblin for years beginning in the 1980s when she was approximately 6 or 7.
01:03:40 The victim grew up in the same Provo neighborhood where Hamblin resided and told police that she regularly played with Handler's children.
01:03:47 And had been babysat on numerous occasions by Mr.
01:03:51 Hamblin, the victim told police that the first assault she remember occurred when she and two other children were in the basement of Hamlins home.
01:03:58 The victim described sexual assault where she and two other children were forced to stand in front of David Hamblin while he directed them to take turns.
01:04:04 You know, doing things, so I'm going to go into that.
01:04:08 It's just bad.
01:04:09 Let's put it that way.
01:04:12 And then so.
01:04:12 There's a bunch of other people that came forward.
01:04:15 In addition to that.
01:04:17 This is where it gets even ******* weirder.
01:04:21 He was charged with poaching.
01:04:23 Because he was, he was caught killing a deer and then performing some kind of ritual where he was like, cutting the the guts out of the deer.

01:04:39 He's friends with him and covered for him and wouldn't wouldn't prosecute him.

01:04:48 And started investigating Leavitt, and at first blush, when you start to look at it, you start to want it.
01:04:54 Was there a political motivation for this because there was an election was going on an election, he ended up losing because all this stuff came out and but no, the more you look into the facts of the case, at the very least he was he was Privy to.

01:10:16 The video shows Leavitt explaining how he tried to broker a deal with the tribe in Montana, offering them the ability to export Buffalo meat to Ukraine.
