The Man Who Saved Europe.mp3

10/25/2019
Speaker 1
00:02:03 I come before you at this time.
00:00:04 To enter the plea for American independence.
00:00:08 It is amazing that one should have to plead for American independence in a nation with a heritage such as ours.
00:00:18 In a nation which in its infancy revolted against foreign control.
00:00:24 And whose people have bought time and time again against the armies and interference.
00:00:30 Of the old world.
00:00:32 Yet the independence and the destiny of America.
00:00:36 We're never more in jeopardy than they are today.
00:00:40 Why with 130 million people?
00:00:44 Are we being told that we must give?
00:00:46 Up our independent position.
00:00:49 That our frontiers lie in Europe.
00:00:52 And that our destiny will be decided by European armies fighting on European soil.
00:00:59 What has happened to this nation?
00:01:02 That it fears immaturity.
00:01:04 The forces that it conquered.
00:01:05 And it's you.
00:01:08 What change has come over us?
00:01:10 But foreign influence has sprung up among us.
Devon
00:01:14 This video has taken me the longest maybe of any video that I've.
00:01:18 Ever worked on primarily?
00:01:21 Because I wasn't sure how to approach it.
00:01:24 The film in question is so many shocking aspects to it.
00:01:29 That it's kind of hard to put into words a lot of what you're seeing when you watch it.
00:01:37 But thankfully.
00:01:39 I discovered the film was.
00:01:41 In the public domain so.
00:01:44 I would have a rare opportunity and be able to just show you.
00:01:49 Large parts of the film without having to find the words.
Speaker
00:01:53 That could.
Devon
00:01:54 Not really describe accurately or even believably.
00:01:58 What I'd seen.
Speaker 1
00:02:00 The film that.
Devon
00:02:01 I'm talking about was released in 1934 and this is important because the the content of the.
00:02:08 Film it is no accident.
00:02:11 It's very contextual.
00:02:13 For the time.
00:02:15 Hitler had been appointed Chancellor of Germany just a year before, and Jewish organizations.
00:02:21 All around the world, we're beginning to lead boycotts against Germany as he railed against what he described as an international Jewish banking establishment, which included the extremely wealthy and powerful Rothschild family.
00:02:38 In fact, the Nazis would later take control of the Rothschild family holdings in Austria in 1938, which and we can't know for.
00:02:47 Sure, but might.
00:02:48 Have been what inspired Winston Churchill, the later state, the unforgivable sin of Hitler's Germany, was to develop a new economic system by which the international bankers.
00:02:59 Were deprived of their profits.
00:03:03 And while these events hadn't yet come to pass in 1934, when this film was released.
00:03:09 The writing, you might say, was on the wall, people, not just in Germany, but in Italy and elsewhere, were beginning to question the role of the international banking establishment in domestic and international affairs.
00:03:25 The common people rarely look fondly on bankers.
00:03:28 And so it should come as no surprise.
00:03:31 That information warfare would pro ceed the real life and death warfare that the common people would then have to fight. In 1933 William Goats, Raymond Griffith, and Darryl F Zanuck would produce a film that would attempt to not only depict the Rothschild family.
00:03:51 As a hard working family deserving of their vast wealth, but also as underdogs, that, despite all odds, rose to their positions by honorably serving and even saving.
00:04:05 The European people.
00:04:08 Saving the European people that hated them out of irrational anti-Semitism, anti-Semitism that had infected the European people for centuries and and now was out of control in Germany, the Rothschild family, you see, they hadn't gotten rich by funding wars.
00:04:27 They've grown wealthy by funding peace.
00:04:30 The House of Rothschild was a big hit.
00:04:34 It was the biggest film released by the newly formed 20th century picture.
00:04:38 That was founded by the film's producer, Darryl Zanuck. It was also nominated for an Oscar for Best Picture, and even today it boasts 100%.
00:04:50 On Rotten Tomatoes from professional critics, although the audience doesn't seem.
00:04:54 To quite agree.
00:04:57 Now, before we dive into the film, I.
00:04:59 Have to give this disclaimer because.
00:05:01 What might have been?
00:05:03 A critically acclaimed Oscar nominated hit in 1934 might come across as something a little bit different today.
00:05:14 So I just have to say and and remind the audience and that includes the YouTube sensors that this film.
00:05:21 Is a film produced by Jewish film Makers.
00:05:25 About Jewish historical figures, and because this film is in the public domain and to avoid being accused of twisting the film's message, I.
00:05:35 Will be playing.
00:05:36 Unedited clips that accurately represent the vision of the Jewish film makers as much as possible.
00:05:44 The film opens up by giving us.
00:05:45 A dramatized version of the Rothschild family Origin story. It begins in Frankfurt, Germany, or Russia as it was called in 1780.
00:05:56 A sign explains to the audience that we are in the Jewish quarter of the city.
00:06:01 It was a a common thing in in many parts of Europe to restrict Jewish inhabitants to a segregated neighborhood that would be closed off to the rest of the city at sundown.
00:06:12 This was also the case here in Prussia.
00:06:15 Prussian guards are seen locking down the Jewish quarter at night.
00:06:19 The Patriarch of the Rothschild family, a a money changer.
00:06:23 By the name.
00:06:23 Of Mayor Amschel Rothschild is shown in a humble home located in the Jewish ghetto.
00:06:29 This depiction of a humble home is a bit of an exaggeration, of course.
00:06:33 Is the real home.
00:06:35 Of Mayor Rothschild, he was hardly struggling to get by, and in addition to having several wealthy clients, including the Crown Prince Wilhelm, he became extremely wealthy by facilitating payments to the halcyon mercenaries from Britain during the French Revolution.
00:06:53 But let's just ignore.
00:06:55 All of that and enjoy the film.
00:06:58 This is mayor.
00:06:59 He's very nervous that his gold delivery hasn't come in yet.
00:07:05 His wife tells him not to worry.
00:07:07 And then remarks that the business looks like it must be really good according to his books.
Speaker 3
00:07:13 It will be.
Speaker 4
00:07:13 Here in the.
Speaker 3
00:07:14 Morning, yes, but if anything should happen.
00:07:17 All that money 10,000 garden.
00:07:21 So much this journey.
00:07:22 7001 love from Prince Louie's.
00:07:24 Agent and then.
00:07:26 All the small sums 10,000 at least, nearly 1000 gardens since morning.
Devon
00:07:37 Then tells his wife.
00:07:38 The story about how he tricks his European customers into thinking that they have the upper hand and that it's always important in business to deceive your clients into thinking that they're dealing with a foolish person.
00:07:51 Because it makes them easier to trick when you really want to make some money.
Speaker 3
00:07:55 That agent, did you notice him then?
00:08:00 He said slyly and smiling and planning to rob this poor old you Rothschild.
00:08:06 And here I was.
00:08:07 So innocent.
00:08:08 A little child.
00:08:09 A baby, in fact.
00:08:12 And there was that final.
00:08:13 Clock that his master had sent him to bargain.
00:08:16 And when at last I let him have it for less money than it cost me, I could see in his eyes how pleased he was that he got the better of this little.
00:08:26 So what is under cost?
00:08:28 Expect to catch a macro, Mama.
00:08:31 You think she's so clever?
00:08:32 And I'm so stupid.
00:08:34 Always make them think they're clever.
Devon
00:08:41 This next scene, it's a little interesting to see.
00:08:45 How the film makers?
00:08:46 Thought that they should show Mayor Rothschild as a as a clever man.
00:08:51 Able to deceive.
00:08:51 The Europeans that they did business with.
00:08:53 And in this scene, a young Nathan Rothschild runs home to tell his father that the Prussian tax collector is coming.
Speaker 3
00:09:07 Nathan, how much the tax collector, Papa?
Speaker
00:09:15 He's down the street.
Devon
00:09:17 The Rothschild family then proceeds to hide their wealth from the tax collector.
00:09:23 They even go so far as to hide their dinner, change their clothes into rags, and swap out their real accounting books for fake books, fraudulent books that show that he hasn't actually been doing any business.
Speaker 3
00:09:38 The tax collector boys.
00:09:48 I have.
Speaker 5
00:10:02 Wait, what do you?
00:10:02 Know about take those hats off.
Speaker 3
00:10:31 Comes up James over the package.
00:10:34 Remember, no deal for the.
00:10:36 Last five days, understand.
Speaker 4
00:10:39 Are you hungry?
Speaker 5
00:10:40 That's a very.
Speaker 3
00:10:41 Then look.
00:10:48 Sullivan, you remember?
00:10:54 Mama. Hi, grost.
Speaker
00:11:01 Good afternoon.
Devon
00:11:14 The tax collector.
00:11:15 Comes and he's rude and stupid and anti-Semitic.
00:11:21 The Rothschild family proceeds to lie to the tax collector and eventually bribes him for a fraction.
00:11:28 Of what he owes.
Speaker 3
00:11:32 Right, my good friend, the tax collector.
00:11:34 Bring out your account book.
00:11:38 I was just looking over it.
00:11:41 Things are very bad.
00:11:42 I was saying to my poor wife.
00:11:45 This is our friend.
00:11:46 The tax collector.
00:11:49 Never have I known such a bad.
00:11:50 Month for five days.
00:11:52 Not one garden have I seen customers come here, but they don't buy and no ones traveling these days.
00:12:00 So my exchange business is worth than nothing.
00:12:04 I shall soon starve.
00:12:07 Why do you take me, Paul?
00:12:09 Now bring out the real.
00:12:10 Books. Real books.
00:12:13 You see, I don't understand what you.
00:12:14 Mean. That's the house.
00:12:17 Pull the bigger pump.
00:12:25 Now, what would it be worth to me if I put you down for 2000 this time?
00:12:31 Very handsome prison for Your Excellency, say.
00:12:34 1000 Golden Dog Central Child I want 10,000.
00:12:39 Would you leave me and my family prejudice with?
00:12:42 A great deal of pleasure.
00:12:43 Come now.
00:12:44 Well, perhaps a 3000 garden, but that's the limit, the actual limit.
00:12:51 I'll take 6000.
00:12:55 I will. We'll make it 5000.
00:13:00 All right.
00:13:01 Have you ready tomorrow?
00:13:03 I'll call.
Devon
00:13:05 So after bargaining down his 20,000 tax debt to 2000 with a 5000 bribe, mayor calls his family together to congratulate them.
00:13:16 On their deception and corruption.
Speaker 3
00:13:18 Right.
00:13:19 You did well.
00:13:20 And Nathan, you're smart.
00:13:22 Glad that one, Mama.
00:13:24 You should have seen.
00:13:25 Him and after all, 5000 Golden isn't as bad as.
00:13:29 It might have been no.
00:13:30 But it is bad to have to pay.
Speaker 1
00:13:33 Away 5000 golden.
Speaker 3
00:13:34 Not as bad as having the fair weight 20,000 father.
Devon
00:13:40 Now remember, this is supposed to make the rocks child look good.
00:13:46 The film is so oblivious to how this might be perceived by honest, hard working people, they inexplicably left this scene in the movie The way it is.
00:13:57 A scene that makes the Rothschild look so bad and unethical.
00:14:02 It's actually used in a Nazi propaganda film called The Eternal Jew, completely unedited.
00:14:11 So anyway, back to the film.
00:14:13 The celebration is cut short.
00:14:16 When a messenger comes to tell them.
00:14:18 That the gold they.
00:14:19 Were waiting for has been confiscated by the authorities.
Speaker 3
00:14:23 Rothschild, Mr.
00:14:24 Mechanic, the man who is winning your money from Hamburg, has been waylaid by the tax agents outside the city.
Devon
00:14:29 They heard he was bringing the money.
Speaker 3
00:14:30 To the street, they.
00:14:31 Might have killed him, but he got away.
00:14:32 He got away with the money.
00:14:37 Well, they got it.
00:14:38 Lost child, they got.
00:14:39 The money I.
00:14:40 Love it? Yes.
00:14:41 Ohh 10,000 golden, our money that we work for.
Speaker
00:14:50 Don't get excited.
Speaker 3
00:14:52 You are young, you are nice before you.
00:14:55 You got to fight.
00:14:56 Fix yourselves.
00:14:57 Fix for our people.
Devon
00:14:59 Which people does he mean, I wonder?
Speaker 3
00:15:01 I live honestly, I trade honestly.
00:15:04 I want to be honest.
00:15:05 For them.
00:15:06 But they won't leave us.
00:15:07 We are jewels.
00:15:08 Facts to death.
00:15:10 Forbidden to learn.
00:15:10 A trade, forbidden to own land.
00:15:13 They keep us in chains.
00:15:14 These same men here to rob us.
00:15:16 So working straight for money.
00:15:18 Money is power.
00:15:19 Money is the only weapon that that you have to defend himself.
Devon
00:15:24 Well, I guess that clears that up.
00:15:26 Poor persecuted mayor Rothe.
00:15:28 Child is on his deathbed with his children gathered around and he has a plan.
00:15:34 He wants to tell them before he dies.
Speaker 3
00:15:38 Much money is lost through sending gold by coach from one country to another in times of war to seized by the enemy in times of peace by fear.
00:15:51 You are five brothers.
00:15:53 I want you each to start.
00:15:55 A banking business in a different country.
00:15:59 One to go and open the house in Paris.
00:16:01 One in Vienna, one in London.
00:16:04 Choose the most important centers so that when money is to be sent from here to London, it is say you won't have to risk.
00:16:15 Life and gold.
00:16:18 Hampshire here in Frankfurt.
00:16:20 We'll just send a letter to Nathan in London saying, hey, so and so and that will be offset by loans from London to Frankfurt, understand.
00:16:36 In your day, there will be many wars in your and nations that have money to transport will come to the US.
00:16:45 China because.
00:16:46 Won't be safe.
Devon
00:16:48 And so his plan to send his sons to all the major cities in Europe to become money changers that would work together with paper.
00:16:55 Notes instead of hard currency that might get stolen.
00:16:59 The film, of course, never talks about another aspect of paper debt the the fractional lending that keeps bankers rich off of interest payments on money.
00:17:06 They don't even have, but I'm sure that was just an honest omission on the part of the.
00:17:12 Film makers.
Speaker 3
00:17:15 Your beauty is strength all your lives, you must stand by one another.
00:17:22 Know one brother must be allowed to fail while another brother succeeds.
00:17:29 Painting houses may cover Europe.
00:17:32 But you will be 1 fan.
00:17:35 One family.
00:17:37 Rothschild, who wept always together that would be.
00:17:45 And when that power comes, remember the ghetto.
00:17:51 I shall be here.
00:17:53 I shall.
Speaker 4
00:17:53 Never leave the house with a robe.
Speaker 3
00:17:56 Remember this before.
00:17:58 But neither business.
Speaker
00:18:00 Nor power nor.
Speaker 3
00:18:02 All the gold in Europe have been happiness to we our people.
00:18:09 Having quality response.
00:18:17 Her live with dignity.
Speaker
00:18:22 The word.
Devon
00:18:27 I think this scene is kind of interesting for a movie that was released in 1934. Given the Rothschild family role in the creation of Israel after World War 2.
00:18:40 But think of that.
00:18:41 What you.
00:18:41 Will so the movie goes on to tell the viewers that the Rothschild family created banks in all of Europe's capitals and slowly gained power by funding the various wars across the continent, often both sides.
00:18:55 Of these wars.
00:18:56 One can only wonder how history might.
00:18:59 Have played out.
00:19:00 Had there not been these oligarchs backing the Bloods?
00:19:03 Or European royalty willing to become debt slaves of international bankers rather than just lose the superficial power of their crowns.
00:19:12 One of these conflicts in particular.
00:19:15 Is the victory of Duke Wellington over Napoleon, who was then exiled to the island of Elba.
00:19:22 In the following scenes, there is a repeated message.
00:19:26 For the audience.
00:19:27 Without the help of Nathan Rothschild's mayor's son, who formed the Rothschild.
00:19:32 Bank in London Napoleon would have won.
00:19:36 It's only because of the great service of Nathan Rothschild that we're not all speaking French.
00:19:42 Duke Wellington can't compliment Nathan Rothschild enough and is so upset that he's been excluded from the victory.
00:19:49 Party because of anti-Semitism.
00:19:52 That he goes to visit.
00:19:53 Him directly and give his thanks.
Speaker 3
00:19:55 He wasn't Rothschild here.
00:19:57 Now there's some.
00:19:58 Feeling when he.
00:19:59 Asked. Well, no.
00:20:00 Your Grace, some of these people aren't the.
00:20:02 Man who paid for these dashboards important enough.
00:20:04 It wasn't the question of importance it.
00:20:06 Was can't come.
00:20:07 Here I suppose we can still go.
00:20:08 There if it's.
00:20:11 Yes, Sir.
00:20:11 Just as soon as I can get away, we're going to call on Nathan Rothschild.
00:20:14 You would have been here.
Devon
00:20:15 While Wellington goes to congratulate Nathan on saving Europe from having to speak French, we get to a fictional part of the film that, in my opinion, was designed to tackle the perception that Europeans and Americans had that Jews were a separate people that even once they rose to prominence like.
00:20:34 Nathan Rothschild never really integrated into the cultures or the people of their host nation.
00:20:42 Julie Rothschild is in a romantic relationship with one of Duke Wellington's captains. Despite how this relationship is a subplot of the film, it's entirely fictional.
00:20:54 Nathan did have a daughter named Julie, but she was never involved with any of the English Gentiles.
00:21:01 In fact, she married.
00:21:02 A Jewish banker named Meyer Levin Bafus.
00:21:06 But as you'll see, this fictional relationship is used to depict Nathan Rothschild as a progressive man who overcomes his own prejudice.
00:21:17 And and stops caring about the tradition and loyalties of his faith, but cares about being a British nationalist who is eventually proud to have his daughter marry one of Duke Wellington's men while the two lovebirds make plans for marriage, Duke.
00:21:34 Tells Nathan that despite what the crowds outside might think, it wasn't him that won the war.
00:21:40 No, it was.
00:21:41 It was Nathan Rothschild.
00:21:44 He's the man they should be praising.
Speaker 3
00:21:47 Hush, hush hush.
00:21:48 I've had that crowd of me.
00:21:49 Heels all day.
00:21:51 If they had in this sense, it's.
00:21:53 Usually been following around.
Devon
00:21:55 But Nathan is a loyal and humble international banker and tells Wellington that he was just trying to bring peace despite Europeans always hating him for no reason.
00:22:06 And now the propaganda goes into OverDrive.
00:22:09 The film wasn't just released in America.
00:22:11 You got to remember it was released.
00:22:12 All around the world, including.
00:22:14 England, which was being pressured heavily to oppose Hitler's Germany.
Speaker
00:22:20 And I hope one.
Speaker 3
00:22:20 Day Europe will realize he owes you something more than money.
00:22:25 Well, my father is a man of peace.
00:22:27 He told us never to loan money to make wars, always to end them, and that's been our principle.
00:22:33 Everybody knows that and respect you for it.
00:22:35 You know your grades, they don't know it and they don't respect.
00:22:39 Our bankers are jealous of us, the man on the street thinks we're just sherlocks, and Europe hides his head for shame because it bothers from the Jews.
00:22:48 I suppose you know, it's that Prussian fellow can't later on, it's responsible for that rot.
00:22:52 And now he hates me and all my.
00:22:55 He's a proper ******* Rothschild.
00:22:58 And he ought to be.
00:22:59 And I must admit that the same happy thoughts occurred to me.
00:23:03 More than once.
00:23:06 You know it's a danger having a man like that in a.
00:23:08 Poverty, always making enemies.
Devon
00:23:11 You see, all of Europe loves and respects the Rothschilds.
00:23:15 It's only these terrible racist Germans that that hate them for no reason.
00:23:20 It's a danger having men like that and authority always making enemies, Wellington continues to praise Nathan and as a special thanks, he tells him that the French are going to be looking for a loan to rebuild.
00:23:33 After the war, and then if he outbids the other bankers, he'll become the most powerful banker in the world.
Speaker 3
00:23:40 I see Russia.
00:23:42 A little secret, mind you.
00:23:45 I ordered to tell you.
00:23:45 This, but I just heard this morning that they are going to float a dash big loan to put France on her feet and enormous loan.
00:23:53 The biggest thing ever issue.
00:23:55 Well, they've got to do something.
00:23:56 France has had 20 years of war on the whole country is torn up, but now they've got peace.
00:24:01 They're going to get together the five.
00:24:02 High powers and help her out.
00:24:04 And the banking house that floats this loan when it once become the most powerful in Europe, its prestige will be announced.
00:24:12 It now is your chance.
00:24:16 And Grace, I can't sufficient to thank you.
00:24:18 For this information, thank you.
00:24:19 It's a dash dark.
Devon
00:24:20 Secret before Wellington leaves, Nathan Rothschild tells his captain that he knows about his romance with his daughter, but he approves.
00:24:29 He then instructs his messenger to tell all of his brothers to stop making loans and they get ready to make the loan of the century.
00:24:37 The loan to the French.
00:24:39 This is their chance to finally challenge the European bankers and become the most powerful banking family in the world.
00:24:46 The problem is when he goes to hear the French decision on which bank they have chosen for the loan, he discovers they have thrown his offer out because they would prefer to work with European bankers.
00:24:59 The film, of course.
00:25:00 Tries to make this look like senseless anti-Semitism. How dare a European country prefer to keep its financial future in the hands of Europeans.
Speaker 3
00:25:11 Your bid was received, Mr.
00:25:14 But to put it as delicately as possible, it was thrown out, shall we say, on a technicality.
00:25:21 The technicality.
00:25:23 What am I to understand by that?
00:25:25 You are at liberty to give my statement.
00:25:27 Any interpretation you choose.
00:25:30 You mean brief?
00:25:31 I am a Jew.
00:25:33 Likewise, in brief, I do.
Devon
00:25:36 This is kind of madding given.
00:25:38 That just moments ago.
00:25:40 Earlier in the film, the Patriarch, Nathan's father Meyer Rothschild, made it clear.
00:25:46 That the Rothschild's loyalties are with their people.
Speaker 3
00:25:50 Remember unity.
00:25:55 All your lives, you must stand by one another.
00:26:00 Know when we're better must be allowed.
00:26:01 To leave while another brother succeeds.
Devon
00:26:05 Why, then, are the Europeans evil for wanting to have this same in Group preference when it comes to something so important as the future of their nation?
00:26:18 And as we'll see, they might have been wise to think that this was important.
00:26:21 When Nathan Rothschild reacts the way that he does.
00:26:25 With a threat that he means to make good on.
Speaker 3
00:26:29 Gentlemen, I must accept your decision.
00:26:33 But since currently grants has been frank enough to admit the reason for our exclusion.
00:26:40 I have ventured to advise him that these attacks on my race are ignorant and futile.
00:26:45 He may strike and strike again a jewel Forbes 1000 are wounded, but the race lives on.
00:26:55 But unfortunately for His Excellency, we are evidently eternal.
Devon
00:27:02 First he goes home and forbids his daughter to marry the Gentile.
00:27:06 This is war.
Speaker 3
00:27:07 9 did was thrown out on a technicality.
00:27:11 A technicality.
00:27:14 Because I am a Jew.
00:27:16 But they did me a great service.
00:27:19 They showed me just how they were going to behave to Julie if she married into their set.
Devon
00:27:25 All his feigned nationalism and respect for the nations that made him Rich has gone right out the window.
00:27:30 He was denied power over the people he sees as persecutors, and now he'll make them pay.
00:27:37 Rothschild now hatches a plan.
00:27:39 He knows that the European bankers are going to sell government bonds they acquired.
00:27:44 At the pre sale, when they granted the loan.
00:27:47 That he was excluded from to the public for a profit lothe child has decided that to get his revenge, he's going to dump all of the government bonds he already has until it drives the price down so low that it ruins the other bankers and leaves them holding worthless paper.
Speaker 3
00:28:07 Hannah, I figured exactly what's in my mind, and this may interest you Tura bearing.
00:28:15 And those others held.
00:28:16 By late, rents have taken this new loan at 71.
00:28:20 On the 1st of the month, again to offer to the public at 74, it pays 4%.
00:28:26 But there is.
00:28:26 Already in existence of previous government bond, which also pays 4% of which we have a large holding.
00:28:34 This bond is now selling at 73.
00:28:37 Hammer says I'm tired, but I'm not.
00:28:39 Too tired to realize.
00:28:41 But if the public can buy one government bond for 70.
00:28:44 Three, they won't buy a new issue bearing the same interest for 74. That's true, Sir.
00:28:49 But bearing on the other bankers, we run up the old.
00:28:51 Bonds and when they rise to.
00:28:53 I know what you're going to say and I make the old ones rise and then launch the new ones, point lower and the public rush is in white saucer.
00:29:02 But suppose there is no rise.
00:29:05 Suppose somebody picks.
00:29:06 The balloon and it.
00:29:07 Doesn't go up.
00:29:09 Suppose before they can run it up, somebody else begins to run it down.
00:29:14 The first for the rest of the Memphis old buns now sending a 73 should fall down to 63. Then they couldn't possibly announce the new loan sent before, because nobody would buy this.
00:29:25 And bearing and laid rants.
00:29:27 And is it a band of bankrupt begins, we'll wait.
00:29:30 For it to go.
00:29:31 Up. But suppose instead of going up, it's tear goes down to 55 to 50 to 45 to 40.
00:29:40 While there never.
00:29:41 Be able to last alone.
Devon
00:29:42 At all of modern analogy would be this.
00:29:46 Imagine Rothschild has a bunch of Bitcoin that he bought when the price was 6000. The price his competitors just got the Bitcoin was at 7000 and they plan to sell in a few days when it's projected that the price will be slightly over 7000. So Rothschild is going to start selling.
00:30:06 All of his Bitcoin until the price begins to drop and create a selling panic that drives the price all the way down to 5000 or even lower before his competitors who already paid 7000 for their Bitcoin can sell on the market, which would leave them with a bunch of Bitcoin they can't sell.
00:30:25 Without going out of business.
00:30:27 So think about that.
00:30:29 The Europeans didn't want to trust this man because they wanted bankers that were invested in the future of the nation.
00:30:37 That was getting the loan.
00:30:41 They wanted European bankers to finance a European loan and they exclude Rothschild because they don't trust him and Rothschild proves them all right by vengefully crashing the market because all he cares about.
00:30:58 And this is supposed to make Nathan Rothschild look clever and good instead of the the vengeful miser.
00:31:05 You could say it makes.
00:31:06 Him look like today.
00:31:07 So in this next scene, the panic has begun.
00:31:10 Everyone is selling and the European banking houses are.
00:31:13 Are about to be ruined.
00:31:15 They call him in and beg him to stop the panic.
00:31:18 And he tells them he will only stop selling if they sign over all of their shares that they bought at 70 to him at 68, they will still lose money, but at least they won't be ruined.
00:31:31 So with no other choice, the bankers agree and they sign over their shares to Rothschild and he becomes the most powerful banker in Europe.
00:31:40 And this is just what's admitted to in the film, the audience is supposed to think, well, it serves those bankers right for being so anti-Semitic. But as we'll see later in the film.
00:31:52 Even the brainwashed audience will have its limit.
00:31:56 As the film makers decide to twist the story behind how the Rothschild's truly secured their banking financial dynasties, but first, the Rothschilds.
00:32:07 Must endure even.
00:32:08 More senseless anti-Semitism, you see, when the public in Germany or or Prussia, as it was called then.
00:32:15 Catch wind of what the Rothschilds have done.
00:32:18 Riots break out in the Jewish quarter and the German people begin throwing bricks through the windows of their homes.
00:32:25 Nathan goes to retrieve his elderly mother, but she won't go with him.
Speaker
00:32:29 But we want you.
Speaker 3
00:32:30 To come away with us for a few months.
00:32:32 You're not safe here.
Speaker 4
00:32:33 I was born here and.
00:32:35 I will die here.
00:32:37 That won't be soon either.
00:32:39 I'll live a dozen years. Yet, Nathan, you ought to know enough about bargains to know the Lord isn't going to take me at 88 when he can get me.
Devon
00:32:50 The English captain also comes to the Rothschild's family home, where Nathan has sent his daughter away to, but Nathan says he cannot marry his daughter because Europeans are just too anti-Semitic.
Speaker 3
00:33:01 What is your objection?
00:33:03 You're not about race.
00:33:04 That's an objection.
00:33:04 I think you might have.
Speaker
00:33:05 Raised a great deal earlier.
00:33:06 Has a.
Speaker 3
00:33:06 Sentimental fool. Walk through.
00:33:09 Going to the Jewish quarter at any time, you passing today and you'll see men lying dead. Julie's people killed by your people for but one crime.
00:33:20 They were Jews.
Devon
00:33:22 But then Nathan finds out that even the Jews are mad at him because they know that the riots have started because he crashed the market to get even with the European bankers, namely the very Aryan looking German banker from the meeting.
Speaker 3
00:33:36 Generative pressure, knowing that this uprising is the direct result of your quarrel with later, and that has made them bitter against.
Devon
00:33:44 But Nathan has a plan to get out of this fix.
00:33:47 He finds out that Napoleon has escaped exile and is back in France raising an army, and is planning once again to conquer Europe, the Germans and English, as well as most of Europe, will need his money to fight Napoleon.
00:34:02 He decides that he will only lend them money.
00:34:05 If they stop the riots and no longer make the Jews live in segregation and of course, Nathan, ever the clever businessman.
00:34:15 First lies to the Germans and tells them that Napoleon has offered them twice the interest that the Germans can offer, and he intends to take the deal.
Speaker 3
00:34:25 As you say, we are moneylenders, not philanthropists, we.
00:34:29 Do it for profit.
00:34:31 You may as well know that Napoleon has offered us twice as much.
00:34:34 As you can.
00:34:35 Promise us and we've decided to take his.
00:34:38 Called over to the.
00:34:39 Enemy eh?
00:34:40 And must admit I'm.
00:34:41 A mint.
00:34:41 How will Napoleon get the money to?
00:34:43 Pay you steal it.
00:34:45 There's not our business.
Devon
00:34:47 So after lying to the Germans and the rest of the European allies and forcing them to increase their interest and agree to abolish Jewish ghettos, he tells them he will grant their loan.
Speaker 3
00:34:59 Very well, we accept.
00:35:07 Pray excuse this Milans some Gentile has evidently strayed into our quarter.
Devon
00:35:16 And now we get to the big lie in the finale of the film, Napoleon seems as though he cannot be defeated.
00:35:24 Duke Wellington is meeting him on the battlefield for what will be the battle that decides the fate of Europe.
00:35:32 Now, first I'm going to tell you what really happened.
00:35:35 And then I'll show you how the.
00:35:36 Film tells the exact same story.
00:35:39 Just like the rest of London, Nathan Rothschild knew that if Napoleon won the battle against Lord Wellington, the bond market in London would crash.
00:35:48 Everyone would sell their positions the same way they did earlier in the film when Rothschild engineered a crash of the bond market to steal the French loan from the European bankers.
00:35:59 The market was very jittery already and all eyes were on Nathan Rothschild because they knew.
00:36:05 That with all of his banking branches across the continent, he had a communications network set up that worked like a well oiled machine at a time when communications had to be delivered by hand.
00:36:17 Nathan Rothschild had men stationed in view of the battlefield, ready to ride back to London the moment either Duke Wellington or Napoleon was declared the victor, so he would know before anyone else how the market would react.
00:36:33 Now, because of this, Nathan Rothschild learned almost a full 24 hours before the English government even knew that Wellington had defeated Napoleon.
00:36:44 So with this information in his hand, knowing that when the news reached the rest of London that the market would skyrocket, he did as he had done before.
00:36:54 And he started a selling panic on the market.
00:36:57 He began liquidating all of his positions and other traders, fearing that he knew something that they didn't know, that Napoleon had won.
00:37:05 They began selling at a loss.
00:37:08 When the price is sufficiently dropped, Rothschild began buying everything up, including shares he had sold earlier in the day.
00:37:17 But now at.
00:37:18 A fraction of the price that he had sold.
00:37:20 Them and when the.
00:37:21 News finally came that Wellington had defeated Napoleon.
00:37:25 The prices indeed skyrocketed.
00:37:28 And Nathan Rothschild became the richest man in the world.
00:37:32 That's what really happen.
00:37:34 And while the film wanted people to know that Nathan Rothschild was clever and incapable of such underhanded tricks when it came to screwing over anti-Semitic bankers, it would probably leave a bad taste in their mouths if they really.
00:37:47 Got the full.
00:37:50 So the movie tells this story.
00:37:52 A little bit differently.
00:37:54 One might say 180.
00:37:56 Degrees out of phase.
00:37:59 In the film, one of rock.
00:38:01 'S child's agents tells him.
00:38:03 That the market is spooked.
00:38:05 They think Napoleon is going to win and and a selling panic that Rothschild totally didn't start has begun.
00:38:11 But Nathan over the loyal subject and Patriot decides to valiantly go to the market floor and and begin buying up everything he can afford in order to shore up confidence.
00:38:22 Don't don't sell buy, he shouts at them.
00:38:25 Have faith in peace for Europe.
Speaker 3
00:38:30 I'd like to continue to buy, yes, but it's sheer suicide, Sir.
00:38:35 Bye support the.
00:38:37 Market, but we can't possibly keep it.
00:38:39 Up, Sir, I'm fighting the only way I can fight with money.
00:38:44 I'm giving all I've got to give for the peace.
00:38:46 Of Europe and.
Speaker 4
00:38:47 Whatever other English will do tomorrow, I buy today.
Speaker 3
00:38:59 Hi. Hi. Yes, hi.
Devon
00:39:05 You see, this is what accounted for.
00:39:07 His vast holdings acquired during the panic.
00:39:10 Not that he.
00:39:11 Started the panic.
00:39:13 He totally didn't cause it.
00:39:14 He he was just trying to restore confidence and bought everything at a fraction of the price because all the frightened Gentiles were just selling and they didn't have faith in Britain like like he did.
00:39:27 And of course, once.
00:39:28 News of Napoleon's defeat finally did reach London.
00:39:32 They hailed him.
00:39:32 As a hero.
00:39:33 He was the hero that Europe needed but didn't deserve.
00:39:37 The hero that saved the Allied nations against Napoleon.
00:39:41 And it was only right that he became the richest man in the world.
00:39:44 He was the only one that had faith in the Allies.
00:39:48 He gave everything that he had so that his people and the European people might succeed.
00:39:54 And in the end, now that he is the richest man alive, he would also let his daughter marry a filthy gentile because, after all, while money can buy kings and Queens and war and nations and and entire continents.
00:40:10 Maybe the whole world.
00:40:12 It's OK that you're poor.
00:40:14 Because the one thing money can't buy is love.
